On behalf of Take ALS Yard and Gettysburg Baseball I would like to formally announce the end of the campaign for the 2018 season. Despite a disappointing seasons on the field, the season did have some highlights and the Take ALS Yard initiative was most certainly a big one. Off the field our team once again succeeded in raising a great amount of money and awareness for Project ALS.
I would be remised to not mention the honors bestowed upon some individuals this year for their efforts on and off the field. This year there were multiple players tabbed for the all-centennial team. Senior Chuck Probst was named to his 2nd all-conference team while Sophomore Joe Giovinco was named to his first; both earned honorable mentions. Senior Logan Sneed was also named to the Centennial Conference All Sportsmanship Team. Continuing with the tradition of excellence in the classroom, the Gettysburg Baseball team had 4 players make the Centennial Conference Honor Role including Danny Brace ’20, Tyler Mitchell ’20, Jack Seibert ’18, and Sinjin Smith ’20.
In terms of the initiative, the team was able to successfully host Take ALS Yard day once again. We were able to hear from Head Coach John Campo, Take ALS Yard Coordinator Logan Sneed ‘18 and also a representative from Project ALS. It was a great day to show our appreciation for the tremendous amount of support that has been shown by our community over the last 6 years.

We were able to raise an additional 7,500 dollars, bringing the initiative’s total to over 65,000 dollars since its beginnings. T-Shirt and hat sales will continue throughout the summer and into next season, so continue to purchase them and continue to support the team’s initiative. In looking forward to next season we are as excited as ever to come up with new and exciting ways to spread our message. Thanks once again for all of the support, Go Bullets, and let’s Take ALS Yard !
