Hi my name is Brendan Wright and I wanted to introduce myself as the Take ALS Yard Coordinator for the Bullets Baseball team for the 2018-2019 school year. Our fall ball season has ended and the team is working hard to improve our game for the 2019 season. I, along with my fellow seniors and the rest of the team are really excited about this opportunity to raise money and awareness for ALS research. We have raised over $63,000 so far and are looking forward to continuing to raise money to reach our eventual goal of $100,000.
We have several events planned for the year, including the 3rd annual “Take ALS Yard Home Run Derby” on the Softball Field this weekend November 11th at 1:30pm. In the past two years, this event has been a great success and allows our fellow students and faculty an opportunity to compete and have fun all while raising money for a great cause. Last year the event had dozens of people involved and we had a great time raising money and awareness in support of ALS research.
This week, we will be having sign ups in the CUB from Wednesday, November 7th, to Friday, November 9th from 11:30am-1:00pm. We will be selling t-shirts and hats in the CUB and at the event to raise money for ALS research and to promote our cause.
We will be having our 7th annual Take ALS Yard Day in the spring and it will provide us with another opportunity to raise money and awareness for ALS research in honor of Robert Borman and Tommy Kirchhoff for the Borman and Kirchhoff families.
