2022-2023 Season Introduction

Dear Gettysburg Baseball family and friends,

We would like to introduce this year’s Take ALS Yard coordinators, seniors Preston Toothman (Infielder from Orlando, Florida) and Andrew Weinbrum (Pitcher from Weston, Connecticut). We, along with the nine other members of our senior class are thrilled to be heading this campaign. We want to thank Coach Campo for everything he has done for the Gettysburg Baseball program and Take ALS Yard. All his accomplishments on and off the field are truly remarkable. After his retirement, it was important to us as a team to keep this fantastic fundraiser going, as it has become a core part of our program. We would also like to thank Coach Beddick and the rest of the coaching staff for giving us the opportunity to continue the Take ALS Yard campaign. We’d also like to thank last year’s coordinators, Matt Muir 22′ and Shane Manieri 22′, for all their efforts and for preparing us for the 2022-2023 campaign!

Last year we raised an astonishing $20,000 during our 2021-2022 campaign. These donations put our ten-year total at over $130,000! This would not have been possible without all of our alumni, family, and friends. As well as the help from Project ALS and all that they have done for our program. We have set our goal for this year at $10,000 in hopes to continue fighting ALS. This year we plan on holding our annual 3v3 basketball tournament with the Gettysburg College Softball team in early December. This event is open to the entire student body and will help to raise awareness about ALS and our philanthropic efforts. We also plan on selling hats and t-shirts with this year’s logo during the spring semester. Our yearly Take ALS Yard day will be on Saturday, April 15th when we take on Swarthmore in a doubleheader at Kirchhoff Field. We hope to see many of our Gettysburg Baseball alumni, family, and friends there!

The money we raise goes directly to Project ALS which funds amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research. We hope you will help us raise money and awareness for ALS in honor of Tommy Kirchhoff and Robert Borman, who are members of our Gettysburg Baseball Family. Please visit our donation page for more information on how to donate.

We cannot wait until the spring season and for the opportunity to build upon the fantastic foundation that the previous teams and coaches have laid out for us. Again, we would like to thank everyone who has helped contribute to our Take ALS Yard campaign and hope to see many of you in the spring!

Go Bullets,

Preston and Andrew
