Take ALS Yard 3v3 Basketball Tournament 2022-2023

On Sunday, December 4th, we held our annual 3v3 basketball tournament. This was our third annual tournament and it was a large success. In total, we raised over 600$, which will all be going to Project ALS and towards our $10,000 goal for this year. We would like to thank all the Gettysburg College students who participated in this event. Thank you to the Gettysburg College Softball team who helped advertise the event and volunteered as referees for the tournament. This event would not have been possible without them. We would also like to thank Coach Hefele for supervising, Coach Beddick for helping organize the event, and Coach Festa who helped advertise our event on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Without their assistance, this fundraiser would not have been possible.

In total, we had 68 participants, split into twenty teams. Each game was to fifteen points or a twenty-minute timer, whichever came first. There were four teams in the Women’s bracket, which was a double-elimination tournament. Congratulation to Santa’s Shooters, who beat Eek! in the championship game. The men’s bracket consisted of sixteen teams. Team Blue Ballers narrowly defeated Chop House in the championship. Both men’s and women’s winners received gift cards to local restaurants. Thank you to Antica’s Pizza, Blue & Gray, and Gettysburger for their generous donations to our tournament. Their contributions are much appreciated by our team and all the participants.

It was a pleasure to watch students compete and see everyone come together in order to raise money for ALS research.
