Dear friends and family of Gettysburg College Baseball,
We are thrilled to announce that Gettysburg Baseball will be continuing our Take ALS Yard program for the 2024-2025 season! Our senior coordinators for this year are Bruno Spadafora (RHP, Pound Ridge, New York), Connor Stewart (RHP, Hickory, North Carolina), James Weedon (RHP, New Hyde Park, New York) and Jack Pistner (SS, Ellicott City, Maryland).
Firstly, we would like to thank the Borman and Kirchhoff families for their maintained support of this incredibly important cause. We would also like to thank Coach Campo, who facilitated the beginning of this movement ten years ago in 2013, as well as current Gettysburg Baseball head coach, Cory Beddick for continuing the tradition.
Our goal for this year is to raise $12,000 to help fund research for Lou Gehrig’s disease which affects approximately 5,000 people each year. To kick off our campaign, we are planning on holding a 3v3 Basketball tournament in the fall to raise funds before the baseball season begins. We are also designing t-shirts and hats to sell with an updated logo, which we are extremely excited about! Because it is so early in the fall semester, we have been discussing additional fundraising events, so be on the lookout for more information on this forum.
The money we raise goes directly to Project ALS which funds amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research. We hope you will help us raise money and awareness for ALS in honor of Tommy Kirchhoff and Robert Borman, who were members of our Gettysburg Baseball Family.
Additionally, you can use the link on this website to donate to Gettysburg Baseball’s fund which will be donated directly to Project ALS.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this incredible cause! We will provide any new information as it comes, and we are looking forward to a successful campaign! We hope to see you all in the Spring.
