Take ALS Yard 2024-2025 Recap

Dear friends and family of Gettysburg College Baseball,

We want to say a huge thank you to all of the supporters of our Take ALS Yard initiative. We were able to surpass our goal of $12,000 early on in the semester and are continuing to raise money as the last few weeks of the season are upon us. We are so grateful for all of the donations, and support that we have received this season and we are excited to see how this initiative develops in the future. All of the donations are sent directly to Project ALS which funds amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research and is working tirelessley with their scientific research to find effective treatments and a cure for ALS.

Thank you again to everyone for helping to raise money and awareness for ALS, wether it was by purchasing our gear, competing in the home run derby we held, or by supporting the program. This campaign was started in honor of Tommy Kirchhoff and Robert Borman, who were cherished members of our Gettysburg Baseball Family. Their strength, resilience, and impact on our team inspired us to launch this effort not only to raise awareness for ALS, but to carry forward their legacy through community, competition, and a shared commitment to making a difference beyond the field. In our four years we have seen the development of the initiative and we are so ecstatic for the future of the Take ALS Yard program.

The Take Als Yard Campaign has been a staple of our Gettysburg College Baseball program since it’s inception in 2013 and we know that our coaching staff and our players will continue working hard to keep the tradition going.
