TAKE ALS YARD 2025-2026

Dear friends and family of Gettysburg College Baseball,

We are thrilled to announce that Gettysburg Baseball will be continuing our Take ALS Yard program for the 2025-2026 season! Our senior coordinators for this year are Vito Gallello (RHP, New Rochelle, NY) and Ryan Wootten (Glen Mills, PA)

Firstly, we would like to thank the Borman and Kirchhoff families for their continued support of this incredibly important cause. We would also like to thank Coach Campo, who facilitated the beginning of this movement twelve years ago in 2013, as well as current Gettysburg Baseball head coach, Jeremy Hefele for continuing the tradition.

Our goal for this year is to raise $12,000 to help fund research for Lou Gehrig’s disease which affects approximately 5,000 people each year. To kick off our campaign, we are planning on holding a Homerun Derby and Cornhole tournament on Kirchhoff Field, October 29th from 3:00-5:00pm to raise funds before the baseball season begins. We have been discussing additional fundraising events, so be on the lookout for more information on this forum.

We have also desgined t-shirts, hats and car magnets to sell with an updated logo, which we are extremely excited about! If you are intrested in purchasing one of these items please reach out to Vito Gallello (914)-391-9555 to set up accommodations to recieve your order!

The money we raise goes directly to Project ALS which funds amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research. We hope you will help us raise money and awareness for ALS in honor of Tommy Kirchhoff and Robert Borman, who were members of our Gettysburg Baseball Family.

You can use the link on this website or the venmo QR Code below to donate Gettysburg Baseball’s fund which will be donated directly to Project ALS.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this incredible cause! We will provide any new information as it comes, and we are looking forward to a successful campaign! We hope to see you all in the Spring.
