Post-Season Thanks

The 2013 Gettysburg College baseball season is over. It is sad to acknowledge, but there is plenty to be proud of. The 2013 team…

-Won 30 games, which surpassed the old school record of 28

-Finished 2nd in the regular season and won Gettysburg’s first Centennial Conference playoff game since 2007

-Had 7 All-Centennial Conference recognitions and Coach Campo won Coach of the Year

-Raised $15k for Project ALS and ALS research– also held “Project ALS” day

It is at this time the team would like to thank all of the supporters of the 2013 team and its efforts to raise money for ALS. There would not have been as many “Ws”, or as much money donated to ALS research if it was not for each and every one of you. We could not thank you enough. With that being said, the team owes a special thank you to a few people:

-Firstly, the Kirchhoffs. This fundraiser would be impossible without the prescence and support. The whole “gang” came out to “Project ALS” day and just demonstrated what a beautiful (inside & out) family they are. We wish them a healthy and happy summer!

-The second is Project ALS. The organization came out to Gettysburg on April 27 and put on a presentation that was really great. We are planning on coming out to their game at Citifield on June 7 (details here: http://fundraise.projectals.org/new-york/events/the-11th-annual-night-to-believe/e24754)

-The third are all the people that made this fundraiser possible: Kelly Jones, who helped us order the hats; Coach Campo, who provided abundant support; President Riggs, who came out to Project ALS day and gave a speech on behalf of the cause; David and Deborah Simon, who were very supportive and “manned” the hat stand at home games.

Please continue checking in for the next steps. Have a great summer!
